Dr. Berenji is the CEO and the Chief Research Scientist of Intelligent Inference Systems Corporation at NASA Research Park in Moffett Field, California. He is a very well known scientist in the field of Computational Intelligence with more than 23 years of experience and more than 90 refereed technical publications. He has invented and patented the theory of Fuzzy Reinforcement Learning (FRL). Together with Dr. David Vengerov, analytically proved the convergence of FRL in 2002. For 16 years (1986 to 2002), he was the principal investigator of the research project on intelligent control at the Computational Sciences Division of the NASA Ames Research Center training about 10 junior scientists in his team. He was a Program Chairman of the IEEE International Conference on Neural Networks, San Francisco, California, 1993 (ICNN'93).

He has been listed in Marquis book on the 2007 edition of Who is Who in the America and in the 2008 edition of the Who is Who in the World for achievements in science. He serves on the editorial board of several technical publications being an Advisory board member of the IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems and was an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks. He was a Program Co-Chairman of the 1994 IEEE Conference on Fuzzy Systems, Orlando, Florida. He founded the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society Chapter of Santa Clara Valley in 2005 for which he is currently the Vice Chair.

A major change in the management of IIS Corp. occurred in 2005 when Maryam Naghibzadeh joined the company. She serves as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of IIS Corp. She has many years of experience in international business as Marketing Executive, Exclusive Representative, Sales Engineer and Commercial Manager. Before joining IIS Corp., she was the Marketing Executive and Exclusive Representative of Inter Equipment Co.LTD, an internationally well-known company in the field of oil & gas, where she was managing all of the company’s operations in Iran.

She has also worked as a chemist at Filmsaz Co., for three years, where she was the head of the Quality Control laboratory. Maryam was awarded as an outstanding instructor during her five years teaching experience at Milad Language Institute.

With her creative ideas and variety of experience in different fields, new horizons have been opened for IIS Corp. She is also a private investor for the company’s Phase II proposals. She has a B.S. in Applied Chemistry and a Business degree from Tehran, Iran. She served as the Vice Chair of IEEE Computational Intelligence Society, Santa Clara Valley Chapter in 2007 and 2008 and she was the Chapter Chair in 2009.
